Some users are now complaining about a noticeable shade of green on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max displays. The problem appears to occur randomly after the device is unlocked and may be related to a software error.
Reports of the greenish screen effect were shared on Reddit (about MacRumors), and it seems that the problem mainly affects iPhone 11 models. There are some inconsistencies regarding the occurrence of this problem, but in most cases the screen turns green immediately after unlocking the iPhone or when Dark Mode and Night Shift are activated.
Instead of a hardware problem, this can be a software problem, as many users have claimed to be affected after the iOS 13.5 update.
At first I was concerned that it was a hardware problem – but then my mother’s phone showed the hue. This is just another bug in iOS 13.5. They will fix the problem in 13.5.2 (or iOS 14 beta).
The green hue seems to disappear after a while, but it keeps coming back and bothering iPhone 11 users.
If this is actually a software problem, Apple can fix it with a future iOS update. The company is currently testing with iOS 13.5.5 Beta. Unfortunately, there are currently no workarounds, so affected users will have to wait for Apple to fix the problem.
