The parka is a long, mostly lined jacket with a hood, which offers numerous combinations. The name Parka comes from the Inuit and means something like “heat”. Originally it was worn because of its warming properties, especially in Alaska and Siberia, where it still consisted of bird or seal skin. Later, however, he was mainly worn in the military. On green parka is the typical garment that can be found from the 1940s, first in the US Army and later in the German Bundeswehr. This military look is still very popular today and is usually characterized by a hood with fur trim and large pockets in the hip area. In addition, many models have opulent tufts, knitted cuffs and other small details.
